Business Productivity Tips to Effectively Manage your Time
5 Business Productivity Tips for Small Business Owners
As a small business owner, you wear many hats which makes time management even more important to ensure business productivity in the office. Here are some tips to help you get more done:
Avoid working when you aren’t at your best
Inevitably there will be times when we just need to get something done and don’t have the energy to do it well or quickly. However, it is worth taking a moment after each work task and evaluating if you were really working at peak capacity or just half-working. By asking that question, you will be amazed at how much more efficient you’ll be overall.
Learn to say “No”.
There are going to be more opportunities presented to you than you can possibly do well. Make sure you evaluate the offers and only say yes when it makes sense and you have the time to do it well.
Use the 80/20 rule
The Pareto principle states that 80 percent of results comes from 20 percent of effort. Take time to think about what you are doing everyday and ask yourself if those activities are producing strong results. Stop doing those things that aren’t working and focus on activities that are getting results.
Tackle one difficult and critical task each morning
It is easy to push off the hard but critical task and focus on the small tasks instead. By tackling at least one difficult task each morning, you will make sure you are doing the heavy lifting that will build your business.
Automate and outsource
Spend some time evaluating the tasks that you do everyday and decide if they can be automated or outsourced. Any amount of work that can be delegated, outsourced or automated will increase your business productivity by leaps and bounds.
